This page explains what personal data the BioRevolution Coalition collects through this website, why we collect it, and the cookies the site uses. We have tried to keep it plain.
Who we are
The BioRevolution Coalition is a group of bio-industry organisations campaigning for a UK policy review to unlock the bioeconomy. The Coalition's secretariat duties, including running this website, are performed by the Bio-based and Biodegradable Industries Association (BBIA) on behalf of the campaign supporters.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller for this site is BBIA. You can contact us about your data at info@biorevolution.uk, or by post at BBIA, 6 Arundel Way, Lowestoft, Suffolk NR33 8BX.
The short version
- We do not set any non-essential cookies unless you accept them.
- If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand, anonymously, how the site is used.
- If you sign up to our newsletter or request our briefing, we use the details you give us only to do what you asked.
- We never sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect, and why
- Newsletter sign-ups. If you subscribe, we collect your email address to send you campaign updates. Sign-up is double opt-in - you confirm via a link we email you. The list is managed by Mailchimp, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Briefing and coalition enquiries. If you request our MP briefing or ask to join the coalition, we collect the details you submit (such as your name, email and organisation) to respond to you. We do not share these with third parties for their own use.
- Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 collects anonymised information about how you use the site - pages viewed, broad location, device type - so we can improve the campaign. IP addresses are anonymised and we do not use Google Signals or advertising features.
- Error logging. We use a self-hosted error tracker (Sentry) to record technical errors so we can fix them. It runs only on the live site, sets no cookies, and is not used to identify or track you.
